Global Entrepreneurship Week 2014

In November, more than 140 countries host Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). The exact days for this year are November 17 – 23. GEW is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators. It started as an idea to create a global movement where people can get inspired through local, national and global activities designed to help them take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey. These activities include competitions, events or networking gatherings. Participants will be introduced to many potential collaborators, mentors or investors and they might discover a whole new world full of new possibilities and exciting opportunities. Supported by many leaders including Richard Branson, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton and Bohuslav Sobotka, Petr Skoda (KPMG) or Andrej Babis in the Czech Republic.

“There is a growing understanding from world leaders that entrepreneurs are the cornerstone of economic growth and a corresponding demand to foster a more entrepreneurial mindset in communities and countries around the world,” said Jonathan Ortmans, president of Global Entrepreneurship Week. “GEW supports the emergence of a new class of global entrepreneurs with access to research, programs and networks they need to succeed.”

For three nights, Wayra CEE is going to host Entrepreneurship Movie Nights. We chose three pieces from the every geek’s must-see collection and we are going to watch them together in Agora (our presentation area). You can see the program and trailers below.
